Basil Parker, 45, employee of Essco Products, died at 2 p.m. in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis. He had been ill three years.
A native of Indianapolis, he was educated at Huntington and was a 1951 graduate of St. Edward’s High School at Austin, Texas.
He entered the Navy in 1952 and served aboard the 3rd submarine of the US Navy, the U.S.S. Skate Nuclear Submarine (1957-1986), before his discharge in 1967. He was a member of the U.S. Navy Fleet Reserve Association.
He had been a resident of Fowler since 1967 and lived at 501 N. Washington Ave.
Mr. Parker was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic.
