Personal History
‘Frank’ Dunwoody was a farmer. He and his wife ‘Millie’ lived just up the road from the Cruthers and Margaret Sutton farm on Route 750W. The four of them often played the euchre card game together at each other’s homes in the evening. Sometimes they played at Frank and Millie’s house and sometimes they played at ‘Dick’ and ‘Gary’s house.
When the card game was played at Frank and Millie’s house, Sharon remembers her parents telling her and her brother Rick to turn off the TV at 8:30 and go to bed. Instead, the two of them kept watching the western TV show called the “High Chaparral”. The two kids would look out for car lights coming down the road from the Dunwoody’s house. When they saw lights coming, they would quickly turn off the TV and rush back to bed and pretend to be asleep when their mom and dad got home.
